YouTube sensation Ricky Glaser used to beg skateboarding magazines to be featured in his hometown in Australia when Instagram didn't have a video then.

Being a YouTube skater wasn't a big deal back in the day when he first started skating.

The 32-year-old acknowledged that he was being rejected most of the time. "It was always like I had to kind of like beg like other people." Glaser explained, "like please release my thing. Oh, I'll do really hard tricks like please put me in the magazine."

Glaser said he was not super down with begging. "I probably wasn't considered to be like the coolest dude either." He said, "I was like you know, not too on the out or whatever but I was just like on the side and they're like, oh yeah he is good but he's like a little bit weird or whatever."

The Melbourne, Victoria, native never gave up and kept skating the streets, until he built his following on social media.

After getting traction online, Glaser decided to come to America for a skate trip. He then met with his now boss, Aaron Kyro.

The Braille Skateboarding boss recognized Glaser's passion and determination. He didn't hesitate to invite Glaser to the U.S., a decision that would shape Glaser's future and the company's success with their team work as YouTubers.

The moral of the story is to never give up on your dreams. Keep working hard like Glaser, and you will eventually achieve success.
