Element Skateboards founder Johnny Schillereff has been at the forefront of innovation and adaptation ethos for years.
One remarkable example of Element's commitment to evolving with the times is the creation of Element Twigs skateboards.
Schillereff reminisces about one particular opportunity that stands out – the inception of Element Twigs.
This unique program was born when a young skateboarding prodigy named Nyjah Huston joined the Element team at 6 or 7.
Nyjah's extraordinary talent was evident initially, but his size and skills required a specialized skateboard to match his abilities.
Schillereff and his team at Element recognized that the solution wasn't simply to create a more miniature skateboard for Nyjah but to scale down every aspect of the board proportionally.
The ambitious project involved designing a mold, adjusting the concave, and fine-tuning crucial elements like the nose length, tail length, and wheelbase to perfectly align with Nyjah's weight, height, and skills.
