Legendary skate punk icon Duane Peters has broken his silence to assert that fellow pro skateboarder Mark "Gator" Rogowski was unjustly accused and imprisoned for a crime he did not commit.

The skate scene saddened and buzzed with controversy since Peters came forward with his claims, shedding new light on a case that had largely faded from public memory.
Mark "Gator" Rogowski, a prominent skateboarder in the 1980s, was convicted of a heinous crime in 1991, shaking the skateboarding community to its core.
He was found guilty of the rape and murder of Jessica Bergsten, a 22-year-old woman, and was sentenced to 31 years to life in prison but was recently released via parole.
Peters, known for not giving a f*ck attitude, is not afraid of cancel culture, as he didn't mince his words for telling what he believes in.
Unlike Mark Oblow, who alleged that Gator's incident was a "rough sex gone wrong," faced backlash due to his take, protecting his best friend but apologized after.
The case, often dubbed the "dark chapter in skateboarding history," led to Gator's swift downfall, with his sponsors dropping him and his name becoming synonymous with disgrace in the skateboarding world.
Hence, Peters alleges a rush to judgment in Gator's case, with critical details either ignored or mishandled.
The punk rock musician also said that, "All any of these skaters gotta do is be nice , smile , tilt their head , look young n cute BUT ! we shall see how dis all end up now wont we."
